July 17, 2000, 16:26 Hrs (IST)

Ranchi: A two-wheeler and cash looted from the murdered Jesuit priest Reemis Kerketta were recovered on Sunday near Takra village under Khunti police station in the district.

Police, acting on a tip-off from the villagers, recovered the items. Director General of Police K A Jacob said the police had collected certain valuable information and the assailants would soon be taken into custody. Raids were being conducted at possible hideouts, he said.

He said the situation, relating to attacks on minorities, was not as alarming as had been projected in the media.
