Srinagar: In a major breakthrough, troops seized 315 kg of deadly RDX in Srinagar,
while eight militants, mainly foreigners, were killed in north Kashmir since Sunday
evening.
A senior army officer told reporters that the troops, on a tip- off, raided the
godowns of Kashmir cargo carrier at Zaina Kadal in downtown city late on Sunday night
and seized 315 kg of RDX.
He said the RDX, transported from Najibabad in Uttar Pradesh to Srinagar via Delhi in
eight packages, was to be delivered to different militant outfits in the city.
The RDX was to be used against important security force installations and government
buildings, besides convoys of security forces, senior politicians and officials in
the city, he added.
This is the second major haul of RDX in the city during the past three months.
