New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu on Fridaytoday fell sick during a CPI-M Polit Bureau Meeting here and was rushed to a hospital, party leader Prakash Karat said.

He told that Basu felt "uneasy" during the meeting and told his party colleagues that he was fainting.

The veteran Marxist leader was immediately rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where he was kept under observation, Karat said.
