London: Chief Justice of India A S Anand, against whom criticism has been leveled by
former union law minister Ram Jethmalani, cut short his week-long visit to the United
Kingdom and returned to Delhi on Thursday.
The chief justice, who represented India at the conference on international law and
human rights here, was scheduled to return on Sunday.
Jethmalani addressed a news conference in delhi on Thursday and brought into open his
differences with Justice Anand on the issue of appointment of Justice B M Lal as the
chairman of MRTPC and on a controversy involving the CJI's wife and
mother-in-law who were allegedly favored by a Madhya Pradesh court in a suit.
