Jaswant, Yashwant Sinha swap portfolios

New Delhi: Jaswant Singh is the new Finance Minister and Yashwant Sinha will move to External Affairs.

Sources said Shatrughan Sinha will be the new Health and Family Welfare Minister.

Sahib Singh Verma has been appointed Social Justice Minister while Jana Krishnamurthy will take charge of Law Ministry.

Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, who was elevated to the Cabinet rank, gets Heavy Industry portfolio, which was lying vacant after Manohar Joshi became Lok Sabha Speaker.

While Minister of state Digvijay Singh has been shifted from Railways to External Affairs Ministry, Anant Geethe will be deputy to Jaswant Singh.

Sripad Naik has been made Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Vinod Khanna as Minister of State for Tourism and Culture.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué on allotment of portfolios is expected late in the evening.
