TNLA, TNRT, ABNES banned under POTA

New Delhi: Government on July 2 banned Tamil Nadu Liberation Army (TNLA), Tamil National Retrieval Troops (TNRT) and Akhil Bharat Nepali Ekta Samaj (ABNES), taking the total number of such organisation declared "unlawful" under the anti-terrorist Act to 32.

These "organisations are found to be involved in terrorist activities and the government has banned the activities of these organisations with immediate effect," a Home Ministry spokesman said.

With this, a total of 32 organisations have been declared unlawful under the Prevention of Terrorist Act (POTA), the spokesman added.
