New Delhi: Maintaining that infiltration across the line of control was a matter
of "great concern", Britain on July 3 called for its "significant reduction" and
urged Pakistan to control cross-border terrorism.
"Controlling infiltration across the LoC remains a matter of great concern to
Britain and this is something I emphasised on the government of Pakistan," British
Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon told reporters after an hour-long one-to-one meeting
with Defence Minister George Fernandes.
Hoon arrived in New Delhi from Islamabad after talks with President Pervez Musharraf
and others.
Heading a high-level Defence delegation on a two-day visit, Hoon made it clear that
London "will not tolerate" raising of funds on its soil for use of terrorism abroad
declaring that the British government had specifically changed its laws to arm the
police and authorities with powers to deal with organisations indulging in such fund-
raising.
