Bangalore: The Chrysallis Performance Arts Centre presented a show performed by
physically and developmentally challenged children on June 22.
The day wove a special magic on the young and special performers of “Earth Song”. It
was a truly blessed time for both the artistes and the audience. It defined moments
of intense sharing and caring, and a special bonding that many people will carry
away for a long time to come, according to an official press release.
These special children had an opportunity to reach out to thousands of others like
them who have not had the opportunity to experience the joy of being among so many
like and unlike themselves. This effort spelt out the existence of the Chrysallis
Performance Arts Centre for the Physically and Developmentally Challenged, the
release said.
The plan is to start off the programme with a curriculum on physical instruction,
movement and dance. There is an urgent need for equipment that will help to
implement the curriculum.
The centre is in need of exercise cycles, steppers, walkers, dumbbells, skipping
ropes, sports/games items like balls and other playthings. Music instruments,
harmonicas, tables, xylophones are also required.
Art material like paintbrushes, paints, waste-fabrics that would help in creative
artwork could also be donated.
The centre also requires some basic renovation and decoration.
