Bhutan seeks India's help to destroy militant camps
Friday, July 5 2002 15:54 Hrs (IST)

Guwahati: Bhutan has sought the help of India for removing Assam militant camps in its territory, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kushabhau Thakre said on July 5.

Talking to reporters, Thakre said Bhutan wanted the camps of the banned ULFA and Bodo extremist outfits to be removed from its soil and accordingly sought the country's help.

"The issue would be solved by our central government," he said.

"Meanwhile, talks were being held between the centre and Bodo outfits for an amicable solution to their problem,'' the former BJP president said.
