New Delhi: British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw on July 5 congratulated External
Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on his new assignment and said he looked forward
very much to working with him.
Both agreed that they would remain in frequent touch, an External Affairs Ministry
spokesperson told reporters.
This follows a telephonic contact between US Secretary of State Colin Powell and
Singh on July 4. Both had agreed to be in frequent touch to monitor the developments
on the ongoing war against terrorism and see how the situation evolves.
Over the last few months, both the US and Britain have been in constant touch with
India to review the progress on the global campaign against terrorism.
