Shimla: Himachal Vikas Congress chief Sukhram, convicted by a Delhi court in the telecom scam, on July 5 resigned as the chairman of the state Legislative committee for consideration and recommendation on the draft memorandum of understanding of Himachal Pradesh Medium Term Fiscal Reforms Programme, Assembly sources said.

Speaker Gulab Singh accepted the resignation and appointed Babu Ram Mandyal as new chairman of the Committee, the sources added.
