Srinagar: Three persons, including a militant were killed and two injured in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, where police arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen militant and recovered 10 kg of RDX from a hideout since July 6 night, a police spokesman said.

The Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Zakir Hussain Sheikh alias ''danish'' was apprehended by Special Operations Group (SOG) of local police from Pulwama bus stand in south Kashmir. Besides Rs 2.50 lakhs, an AK assault rifle, two magazines and 30 rounds were recovered from him, the spokesman said.

Zakir, a resident of Maldeer village of Shopian, was being questioned for his involvement in militancy and finance of the outfit as the money seized from him indicated his role in the Hizbul's finance wing, the spokesman said.

The militant apparently got the money from Srinagar to be distributed among the outfit militants in South Kashmir. He was arrested at Pulwama bus stand when he alighted from the bus coming from Srinagar, the spokesman said.

He said an unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest closure of Soker Tarminar near Darhal in border district of Rajouri in Jammu on July 6 night.

In another encounter, SOG personnel confronted a group of militants at Nasika Chinta area of Bhaderwah in Doda district on July 6 night. However, the militants escaped after exchange of fire with the police party leaving behind 10 kg of RDX and fake currency worth Rs 1 lakh was recovered from their hideout.
