Tainted cop gets transferred in Srinath case
Wednesday, July 10 2002 22:55 Hrs (IST)

Mysore: A police official who allegedly misbehaved with leading cricketer Javagal Srinath has been transferred, police said.

The transfer orders were served on July 9 night on the official whose postings is yet to be given, a police official said.

Karnataka Home Department had sought a report from the Mysore police commissioner about the incident and Home Minister Mallikarjun Kharge had on July 9 told the Assembly that government was considering stringent action against the official involved.

Reports had said that Srinath had a bitter experience and was allegedly treated rudely by the police official at Kuvempunagar station, where he had gone to lodge a complaint after he lost his RC book.
