Srinagar: Acting Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman and senior Hurriyat Conference leader Javid Ahmad Mir on July 14 condemned the Qasim Nagar carnage and said till India-Pakistan stand off was defused, such incidents would continue to take place.

"It is ironic that whenever some progress is made in the direction of resumption of dialogue to resolve Kashmir issue, something unfortunate like this takes places," Mir, released by police on July 13 night after overnight detention, said.

"Till India-Pakistan confrontation at diplomatic, political and military level continues, these incidents will keep on happening."

Demanding an inquiry into the massacre that left at least 27 dead, he said India and Pakistan should initiate a dialogue without further delay to resolve the Kashmir issue.
