Srinagar: Claiming that the killing of innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir was
engineered to spark communal tension and defame the "movement" in the state,
Hurriyat Conference on July 15 said it will organise a march on July 20 to protest
killings by unidentified gunmen.
The killing of innocent people in Qasim Nagar near Jammu is part of the game plan
being implemented in the state for several years aimed at to harm the communal amity
in the state, the separatist amalgam said in a statement.
Hurriyat has always condemned all such incidents and demanded an impartial inquiry
but government has always rejected the demand and covered up such incidents, it said
in the statement issued after a meeting of its seven-member executive
committee.
"The protest march on Saturday is to mobilise the people of the state against the
conspirators behind the innocent killings, growing incidents of state terrorism and
unveil the conspiracies behind such killings," it said.
"Hurriyat respects human lives and their religious places and calls upon people of
Jammu and Kashmir to foil the conspiracies aimed at defaming the ongoing movement,"
it said.
"The basic purpose behind such incidents was nothing but to harm the unity and
integrity of people of Jammu and Kashmir and break their will," it said.
