Srinagar: A massive security cover has been thrown around the Jammu and Kashmir state legislative Assembly, where the state's electoral college is voting in the Presidential election on July 15, to prevent any untoward incident.

Budshah Bridge, connecting Lal Chowk and Exhibition Crossing, has been closed for public movement resulting in traffic jams in the city.

Police and paramilitary forces are checking all vehicles which are going towards Lal Chowk.

The state Assembly was the target of a suicide attack on October 1, 2001, in which over 30 people were killed.
