Jammu: With one more person succumbing to bullet wounds, the death toll in the July
13 attack by terrorists at Qasim Nagar near Jammu has risen to 28, official sources
said on July 15.
Rajesh Kumar, 28, who received multiple bullet wounds died in government Medical
College Hospital on July 14 night, they said.
Twenty-six bodies have so far been identified, they said, adding these included 13
women and a child.
The injured, mostly labourers, were undergoing treatment for bullet and splinter
injuries in the hospital.
Though no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack, Pakistan based
outfit Lashker-e-Toiba is believed to be responsible for the massacre, according to
state director general of police (DGP) A K Suri.
Meanwhile, searches by police and paramilitary troops in the nearby forest areas
were on to nab those involved in the attack, they said.
