New Delhi: Seeking to promote the peace process in Nagaland, all warrants of arrest
against National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) leader Isaac Muivah and some
others of the militant outfit have been withdrawn, Nagaland Chief Minister S C Jamir
said on July 18 after meeting Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.
"If they (NSCM-IM leaders) want to come to India, it will be very good. And as far
as we are concerned, we have already withdrawn the warrants of arrest and I have
forgiven them," he told reporters.
Muivah, among others, had been charged with conspiracy to assassinate Jamir two
years back. Two policemen were killed in the assassination bid.
The Chief Minister said he had discussed with Advani the progress of the Naga peace
process.
Muivah, along with NSCN (I-M) Chairman Isak Swu, gave a written assurance on July 11
to Prime Minister's special emissary K Padmanabhaiah in Amsterdam that they would
come to India to hold further talks.
Official sources said some cases may be pending against Muivah in Assam and Manipur.
