Thiruvananthapuram: The opening Kerala all-India prize money marathon will be held
on August 30 under the auspices of the Kerala Sports Council (KSC).
Giving details about the 42 km 195 m gruelling race, KSC president C Moahana
Chandran said the marathon was being recognised by the Amateur Athletic Federation
of India (AAFI).
Country's leading runners are expected to participate in the race, to be conducted
on the `National sports day', August 30, he added. The first prize winner will be
awarded Rs 1 lakh, the second prize winner Rs 50,000, the third prize winner Rs
30,000. The 4th to 10th placers would also get prize money.
A 10-KM Mini marathon for women has also been included along with the event and
first placer will get Rs 25,000.
