Ranchi: At least five persons were killed and 25 others injured on July 24 as large-
scale violence and arson broke out during the pro-domicile dawn-to-dusk Jharkhand
bandh, with the state capital being the worst affected.
IG (Operation) R C Kaithal said that three persons were killed when security guards
of MECON opened fire on bandh supporters who damaged at least 80 four and two-
wheelers inside the premises of the public sector unit (PSU).
Kaithal, said it was not known how the two others died.
