New Delhi: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which got its new president in
Madan Lal Khurana ten days back, will be reconstituted by August 4 with induction of
young faces and representation given to those having origin in Uttar Pradesh and
Bihar.
Stating this, Khurana told reporters that Lal Bihari Tiwari, the BJP member of
Parliament (MP) from Delhi not made a minister or given any significant post in the
party, would be "allotted second highest post" in the party unit "next to
mine".
He said the new office-bearers would be announced on August 4, a day after the
National Executive convention to be held in Delhi, "as the current team is involved
in making preparations for the same."
Indicating the composition of the new team, Khurana said it would have
representation from party members having origin in UP and Bihar "as they have had a
big contribution" for the party.
"The character of Delhi has changed over the last 15 years and this will be kept in
mind while reconstituting the new team," said the former Chief Minister who got the
reins of the party just over a year before the Delhi Assembly elections.
The party chief was changed after its drubbing in the last February civic polls.
