Karimnagar: Naxalites of the outlawed People's War Group (PWG) on July 26 shot dead the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Velgatoor mandal president on the outskirts of Munjampalli village in the district, police said.

The police said D Bakkaiah (35) was dragged from his house and killed by the naxals.

Bakkaiah was suspected to be a police informer by the naxals, police added.
