Manchester: India's N Kunjarani Devi clinched the overall gold medal in the women's 48 kg category in the weightlifting event of the 17th Commonwealth Games on Tuesday.

Kunjarani lifted 167.5 kg to claim the honour while Canada's Karine Turcotte took the silver medal with an effort of 157.5 kg. The bronze went to Ebonette Deigaeruk (145 kg).
