Global Indian meet at New York from Sept 12

Bangalore: The postponed Global Indian Entrepreneurs Conference, sponsored by the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, LaGurdia Airport, New York from September 12 to 15, according to an official press release.

New York, in fact, will host the third such conference. The first Global Indian Entrepreneurs Conference was organised by the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1996, while the second conference was held at Delhi organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in 1998. The conference that was to be held in September 2001 was postponed due to 9/11 terrorist attack on New York city, the release said. The third conference is co-sponsored by Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce (New Jersey), Indian Merchants' Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Mumbai), Fil-Indian Chamber of Commerce (Philippines), Indo-Dutch Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Indo-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and many others.

The topics for the conference include: Business and investment opportunities in nanotechnology/biotechnology, next generation software/networking/wireless technologies, hospitality industry, franchising and service industries; NRI/ PIO opportunities in India, North America, West Indies, Africa, Europe, Middle East and Far East, the release added.
