Jammu: Indian and Pakistani troops traded artillery and small arms fire along the
Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir since August 3 without
causing any casualty, Defence sources said on August 4.
Pakistani troops targeted forward Indian positions with artillery fire, forcing
Indian troops to retaliate, they said.
The exchange continued till early August 4 morning without any casualty or damage on
the Indian side, the sources said.
Exchange of mortar shelling between the two sides was reported from Noushera sector
of Rajouri district on August 3, they said.
Intermittent exchange of small arms fire between BSF and Pakistani Border Guards was
reported from several places along the IB, the sources said. It was reported from
Hiranagar, RS Pura, Samba, Arnia and Kanachak sectors of Kathua and Jammu districts.
Meanwhile, one Bhaloo Mohammad of Mankot area in Rajouri district was critically
wounded in a mine blast at Yayan Nallah near the LoC on August 3, the sources added.
