PWG men kill 2 CPI-ML workers in retaliation
Sunday, August 4 2002 15:29 Hrs (IST)

Jehanabad: In the continued feud between the outlawed Peoples War Group (PWG) and CPI-ML (Liberation), PWG activists killed two of the 10 CPI-ML workers kidnapped by them on August 3 in retaliation to the shooting down of their four supporters by the CPI-ML (Liberation).

The CPI-ML had shot dead PWG supporters at Mahuagoan village in Jehanabad district on August 2.

The bodies of the two CPI-ML workers were found from Ramdevchak village of the naxalite-affected Jehanabad district on August 4 morning, the police said.

The eight other abducted activists were released by the PWG after brutally assaulting them with threats that they should not dare to oppose them in their area of operation.

Those killed by the PWG have been identified as Kameshwar Paswan (45) and Ramadhar Paswan (35), the police said.

Inspector general of police (operations) Neelmani along with other senior police officers rushed to Jehanabad following the killing of six ultras in the last 48 hours and the tense situation prevailing in the district.
