Delhi cops raid Sharma's house, recover documents

Panchkula: A Delhi police team on August 4 raided the residence of senior Haryana cadre IPS officer Ravi Kant Sharma, prime suspect in journalist Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, and took into possession a diary and some other documents belonging to the police officer.

The 16-member team searched the residence of Sharma, Inspector General of Police (Prison), twice, first at 6:30 am (IST) and again at 12:15 pm, but could not find him, police sources said.

However, the police took into possession a diary of Sharma and some other documents, the sources said.

Assistant Commissioner of Delhi Police Hemant Sharma, who led the raiding party assisted by police personnel from Haryana Punjab and Chandigarh, said he hoped the IGP would be arrested "soon".
