Tirupati: A Rs 20 crore massive pilgrim choultry would be built by Tirumala Tirupati
Devasthanam right in front of the railway station after the demolition of the
existing 100 year old choultry.
The decision was taken at the first meeting of the TTD new board, which met on
August 4, board chairman P Chalapathi Rao, told reporters.
The TTD chief engineer Sathyanarayana Raju said that proposed multi-storeyed
choultry would have about 320 suites, a hospital and a shopping complex, banks, bus
stand and a car parking for the benefit of the devotees.
The massive choultry would also have a very spacious dormitory hall to shelter about
2,000 devotees, he said.
The choultry is to be constructed in a 4.6 acre site, Raju added.
