Singh would take part in the Hero Honda Open South 2002 – the second leg of the 2002-
03 Hero Honda Golf Tour – starting here with the Pro-Am event on Wednesday.
The tournament at the Karnataka Golf Association's 18-hole, par-72 course, which
ends on August 10, offers a total prize money of Rs 10 lakh. The winner would be
richer by Rs 162,000, according to Brandon de Souza, president of Tiger Sport
Marketing - which has the marketing and management rights of the Indian golf
tour.
The runner-up here stands to gain Rs 112,000, he told reporters.
Hero Honda's zonal manager (South) P S Sunder said his company would present a 'Hero
Honda Passion' motorcycle to the first player who cards in a hole-in-one during the
four-day professional event.
Others top players in the fray include Vijay Kumar, Uttam Singh Mundy, Arjun Singh,
Indrajit Bhalotia, Ali Sher, Feroz Ali, Shiv Shankar Prasad, Rahil Gangjee and Rahul
Ganapathy.
