10 people injured in Rajouri grenade blast

Jammu: Ten people were injured, one of them seriously, when a grenade exploded at malik market in border town of Rajouri in Jammu division on August 5 afternoon, police sources said.

An unidentified militant hurled a grenade towards a shop in malik market around 13:00 hours, the sources said adding the grenade exploded causing damage to the shop and injuring ten persons standing nearby.

Following the explosion, panic gripped the area. Police parties along with senior officers rushed to the site and cordoned off the entire market area and launched a search operation to nab the culprit, they said.

The condition of one of the injured was stated to be critical and was being brought to Jammu medical college hospital for specialised treatment.

This is the second blast in Rajouri town during last fortnight. Earlier, two persons were killed and 26 others injured in Rajouri town on the evening of July 23.
