Bangalore: From leukemia, cancer to epilepsy, Alex Orbito – the spiritual healer from Philippines – has a sure cure remedy. And all he does is to touch the patient with his fingers and the patient is completely healed, the psychic healer claimed to a huge audience at the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on Friday in a near two-hour lecture.

"As I place my hands on the patient's body, I feel the healing energy surge through my fingers causing vibrations and stimulating the cells of the patient's afflicted part," he explained as the jam-packed audience listened with rapt attention.

"My hand at the moment is like a magnet that automatically attracts the diseased part. I can see and feel the patients being relieved instantly. This healing energy, however, is not limitless. When it is consumed after a lot of healing, I return to my usual ordinary, humble self," he stated in what he described as psychic healing.

"The entire healing process occurs in a different dimension. It is no miracle or magic and I just happen to be the medium through which God channels his divine energy. My heart fills with love, mercy and compassion as I see the crowd of sick people waiting for me. Then I deeply concentrate and fervently pray to God to make me a channel of his divine power," he said.

"When I open a body, there is no pain, for it is not my hand that does it but the power that emanates from God. The human body is composed of cells, which have tiny minds of their own and these cells receive instruction from either the instinctive or from the spiritual mind," he claimed.

"When my spiritual mind is attuned to the higher intelligence which is the holy spirit of God, my hands emit an energy which is more powerful than the physical constitution of the human cells so that they merely give way to the more powerful force" he added.

And his mantra for a healthy life was to be positive in every aspect of it. "Every morning one should tell thyself in front of the mirror that 'you are beautiful', 'you are attractive' and 'you are sexy'. These set of positive words are sure to keep you energetic vis-à-vis healthy," he said.

Recalling his foray into this business of spiritual healing, he said it dawned on him that he could be a spiritual healer during a visit to the Egyptian pyramid. To commemorate that, he also constructed the Pyramid of Asia at Manaoag, Philippines in November 1999.

The Pyramid of Asia, he claims, flows with cosmic energy filled with magnetic and electric waves. "By spending 11 minutes inside the pyramid for meditation and balancing of energies, one could be assured of a better living," he claimed.

Amidst disbelief, skepticism and wild criticism, Orbito stated that he has carried on patiently and persistently, propagating spiritual healing across the globe. "I am only an instrument of divine power," he stated.

However, his therapy cannot work on non-believers. "For the healing to be truly effective, the patient must sincerely respond to the process. This is true for all forms of healings. All healing is self-healing ultimately. But scientists have claimed that only psychosomatic illness can be cured through this method. But I have effectively cured ailments caused by infectious bacteria."

Stating that many patients and doctors today were adopting a mix of traditional and the non-traditional, he added, "Spiritual healing and psychic surgery may be the last hope of mankind."
