TN whiz kid is youngest CISCO certified engineer

Chennai: World's youngest Microsoft certified systems engineer is a 10-year-old boy, S Chandrasekhar, who is from Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli district.

An eighth standard student of the St Bell Matriculation School of Tirunelveli, this computer whiz kid is also the world's youngest CISCO certified network associate.

Introducing him before the media here on August 13, by Dr R Chidambaram, principal scientific advisor to the government of India said that the society for electronic transactions and security (SETS), recently formed at the initiative of his office was only happy to identify and encourage such young brains in the country.

Apart from his regular schooling, Chandrasekhar is also currently doing his graduation in computer applications (BCA) under the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.

According to his father R Subramaniam, an auditor, the boy presently doing his second year BCA had been allowed to straightaway do his post graduate course (MCA) by the University as a special case.

Chandrasekhar has also recently been nominated as honorary director of the centre for networking engineering of the Arulmigu Kalasalingam college of Enginering. The centre is sponsored by the technology information forecasting assessment centre (TIFA) under the department of science and technology (DST).

Subramanian said that the Chennai based Covansys India ltd, the Indian arm of the US based software company Covansys corporation is now taking care of the boys education and career prospects.
