New Delhi: Former Law Minister Ram Jethmalani, who heads a private initiative on the
Kashmir issue, on August 31 met Congress president and leader of Opposition Sonia
Gandhi and briefed her about the work done so far by his team to find a long-
standing solution to the vexed problem.

In the meeting, Jethmalani, who is the chairman of the Kashmir Committee, noted
certain "unhelpful stands" taken by the Centre which has resulted in
misunderstandings among the elements playing important roles in Kashmir, Committee
sources said.
The meeting, which lasted for an hour, was attended by senior party leaders Natwar
Singh, Pranab Mukherjee and Manmohan Singh, the sources added.
