Kanpur: Blaming "lack of seriousness" on part of the Centre for the delay in
construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on September
5 said it was holding an emergency meeting of its central advisory board in Lucknow
on September 28 to discuss the issue among others.
"Centre was not taking the Ram temple issue seriously which is the main factor in
delay of the construction," VHP general secretary Praveenbhai Togadia told
reporters.
Togadia said saints from all over the country would participate in the Kendriya Marg
Darshak Mandal meet.
He said VHP would reach out to over 1.25 lakh villages of the country through a
month-long programme from November 15 during which "Ram sadhak" (volunteers) would
apprise the villagers of the issue.
The volunteers would be trained at Ayodhya during a five-day programme commencing on
September 19.
The VHP, he said had also not given up the issues of Kashi and Mathura, which would
be taken up at the right time.
To a question, he said secularism was anti-Hinduism as secular parties have never
supported the Ram temple issue.
