Ahmedabad: The Lok Janshakti Party has threatened to block Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP)'s "Gujarat gaurav yatra", scheduled to begin from Kheda district's Phagvel
village on September 8.
Ravi Ojha, general secretary of the party founded by Ramvilas Paswan, said on
September 7 that they were planning to squat on the roads to block the "gaurav
rathyatra" vehicle when it enters Himmatnagar and Vijapur in North Gujarat.
Meanwhile, the Lok Janshakti Party organised a dharna near Lal Darwaja area to
protest BJP rule in Gujarat and demanded that BJP cancel its yatra
immediately.
Speaking at the dharna, Mukesh Gurjar, party unit chief in the state, alleged that
during BJP's rule, progress has come to a standstill, unemployment has risen and
communalism has pushed all issues of primary importance to the backseat.
