30 feared killed in Himachal Pradesh bus mishap

Shimla: At least 30 pilgrims were feared killed and 16 injured when their bus plunged into river Parvati in Thauk village on the Kullu-Khirganga road, 50 km from Kullu, police said on September 8.

The mishap occurred on September 7 night when the victims were returning after visiting Khirganga shrine in a private chartered bus. The ill-fated vehicle was carrying about 50 devotees.

Of the injured 11 were brought to Civil Hospital in Kullu while the condition of three of them were stated be critical.

The deputy commissioner, Kullu, R D Nazeem along with medical and rescue teams reached the spot at night but no bodies could be recovered so far as they could not reach the bus which was submerged into the water.
