Mumbai: US on September 11 said that after one year of sustained armed battle
against terrorism, it would soon embark upon war against cyber terrorism.
Addressing a function organised in commemoration of the "Heroes and Victims of
September 11", US Consul General in Mumbai Angus T Simmons said in last one year as
many as nine major countries including India had joined the US to fight terrorism.
It was sustained support from these countries that led to Talebans being ousted from
Afghanistan.
He said since last year, about 2,000 terrorists have been killed by various US
sponsored actions.
Peace songs in English by Merlin and Vivienne, Clary Devisser and playing of flute
by Rajeev Raja were major highlights of the function.
Cine actor Tom Alter added flavour to the show by recitation of Urdu couplets.
Names of 42 Indian victims of the tragedy were also read out.
India had the third largest number of casualties after US and UK, officials said.
