Srinagar: Four Pakistani militants and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan were among seven killed and six injured, including two policemen, in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since September 11 night, a police spokesman said on September 12.

Three militants were killed and two policemen injured in an encounter in Beerwah area of Badgam district in Central Kashmir early September 12, the spokesman said.

However, official sources said the three militants of Al-Bader outfit, who were captured by security forces last month, were killed and two policemen injured when a police party escorting them to a militant hideout for effecting some recoveries came under attack by hiding militants at Beerwah.

They said Tariq Mehmood Shaheen alias Zain-Ul-Abedin, Mouzam Sadiq and Hamid Nauman Bhat (all Pakistani nationals) were arrested from Srinagar on August 22.

The spokesman said another Pakistani militant associated with Hizbul Mujahideen, Abdul Rashid alias Hafiz, was killed in an encounter with security forces during search operations at Srereng in Maho Mangant area of Doda district in Jammu region on September 11 night. An AK assault rifle and five magazines were recovered from him.
