Jammu: Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured in two separate
attacks by ultras in Rajouri district, while 30 kgs IED was recovered in Doda
district of Jammu division since September 12, official sources said on September 13.
They said one CRPF jawan was injured when militants opened fire on a CRPF camp at
Rajdhani-plunger village in Rajouri on September 13, the jawan retaliated and the
exchange of firing between two sides continued till evening. The militants later
fled away.
In another incident at Pangai village, two CRPF jawans, deployed on election duty,
were critically injured when militants attacked their camp by resorting to
indiscriminate firing. The injured jawans have been admitted to district hospital at
Rajouri, the sources said.
The jawans along with other para-military troops were deployed for the first phase
of elections to be held on September 16.
Meanwhile, security forces during search operations, recovered an IED weighing 30 kg
in Kishtwar area of Doda district last evening. The IED was later destroyed, they
said.
