New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee will inaugurate the 38th session of
the Indian labour conference on September 28.
The two-day conference would discuss the impact of globalisation on the Indian
economy, particularly on employment and how to meet the challenge.
The meeting, to be attended by representatives of 38 Central Ministries and
departments, all state governments and Union Territories, will also discuss issues
like social safety net, disinvestment policy of government and problems and
challenges being faced by small scale industries and their remedies, according to an
official release.
It would also discuss the report of the Second National Commission on labour at its
plenary.
