Contempt notices issued against Koirala, Nair
Friday, September 13 2002 13:05 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Mumbai High Court on September 13 issued suo-moto contempt notices against actress Manisha Koirala and producer Shashilal Nair for their alleged conduct in approaching extra-Constitutional authorities to resolve their dispute over objectionable scenes in Hindi film 'Ek Chhoti Si Love Story'.

The contempt notices were issued by Justices R M Lodha and Dilp Bhosale.

Nair has been pulled up for contempt for arranging to screen the film specially for Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray while Manisha was found guilty of contempt for going to Thackeray to resolve the dispute.

The notices are made returnable on October 5.

The judges objected to Manisha and Nair's conduct of approaching Thackeray when the matter was pending in the court.
