Rafiganj: Traffic has been restored on the Gaya-Mughalsarai down line after two
bogies of the derailed 2301 Howrah-New Delhi Express were removed from the track and
necessary repair work done, railway sources said.
Sources at the Rafiganj railway station said that the down line was reopened for
train traffic in the wee hours on September 13 and four trains, including 2801 up
Puri-New Delhi, Purshottam Express, passed through it at a slow speed.
After removal of the two wrecked coaches of the Rajdhani Express from the tracks,
goods train was first run on the track on experimental basis to gauge the load of
the tracks.
After that a speed limit of 15 km/hour was fixed for the movement of trains, the
sources added.
They said work was also on the up line but it would take at least a week's time to
make the track operational.
