Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mukut Mithi on September 16 carried out a
major reshuffle in his council of ministers changing the portfolios of 15 Cabinet
ministers and seven ministers of state.
He told reporters that this was the first major reshuffle during his three years in
the office. Mithi said that the objective of the reshuffle was to give an effective
administration to the people.
Earlier in the day Arunachal Pradesh Rural Works Department Minister, T L Rajkumar,
resigned from the ministry citing personal reasons and his resignation letter was
accepted by the Chief Minister.
There are 23 Cabinet ministers and 15 ministers of state in Arunachal Pradesh after
the resignation of Rajkumar. The portfolios of 15 Cabinet ministers and seven
ministers of state have been affected after the reshuffle.
The relocated portfolios are as follows-Thupten Tempa (Rural Development and
Panchayat Raj), Dorjee Khandu (Reliaf, Rehabilitation and Mines), Tsering Gyurme
(Textiles and Industries), Japu Deru (Public Health and Water Supply), Hari Natung
(Health and Family Welfare), Nabam Tuki (Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs), Kahfa
Bengia (Trade and Commerce), Talo Mugli (Public Works department), Lijum Ronya
(Horticulture), Kento Ete (Power and Non Conventional energy).
