BJP rules out replacing Marandi as Jharkhand CM
Wednesday, September 18 2002 16:33 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Scotching media speculation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Rajnath Singh has ruled out replacement of Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi.

"There is no such move. All such reports are baseless. Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi will continue," Singh told 'Organiser', the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) mouthpiece in an interview.

Marandi's decision to introduce the domicile policy for preference to locals in jobs in the state led to violence and even sharp differences within the state unit of the party.
