Gaya: The Railway safety commissioner, Eastern Circle, Mahesh Chandra, folded up his
enquiry into the derailment of 2301 UP Rajdhani Express on September 9, which
claimed 129 lives.

Dhondhiyal, Aurangabad's district magistrate S Sidharth and superintendent of police
Sunil Kumar Jha, gave their versions on the mishap before the five-member probe team
headed by Chandra on the last day of enquiry on September 17, Railway sources
said.
Besides these senior officials, station masters of five railway stations between
Gaya and Rafiganj, Kasta, Paraiya, Guraru, Ismailpur and Rafiganj, and some
officials of railway engineering department also appeared before the
Commission.
Altogether 100 people including senior Bihar officials, Railway staff and locals
deposed before the Railway safety commissioner during the two-day recording of
statements, the sources said.
