Bihar transporters' stir ends, govt meets demands

Patna: The 49-day-old transporters strike in Bihar ended on September 18 after the state government announced revision of road tax on vehicles.

The decision to call off the strike was announced by the Bihar Motor Transport Federation (BMTF), working president Uday Shankar Singh after a hectic meeting with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, Transport Minister Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, senior minister Jagdanand Singh and others.
