New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) general secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh
(UP) and former Chief Minister Rajnath Singh has said he was not happy with the
ground realities in UP.
"No, I am not happy. I don't like to comment much on this issue," Singh, who was
opposed to the BSP-BJP alliance in the state, said in an interview to RSS (Rashtriya
Swayamsewak Sangh) mouthpiece 'Organiser'.
He was responding to a question whether he was happy with the ground realities in
the state.
Asked about reports of growing differences between Chief Minister Mayawati and state
BJP leaders, he said, "I don't want to comment on the functioning of the UP
government."
Singh said the party organisation in UP under state president Vinay Katiyar and
Kalraj Mishra as state in charge was "fully active and they are performing well".
The state party would be organising certain programmes including the "gaon chalo
abhiyan" (go to the villages campaign) to establish contact with people living in
villages "to apprise them of the Central government's achievements and also to know
their problems", he said.
Katiyar had last week expressed satisfaction over the "co-ordination" between the
two parties but said the onus for sustaining the coalition lay with Mayawati.
Singh, who is also in-charge of Madhya Pradesh, dismissed reports that the party was
a "divided House" in the state.
"The BJP's house in Madhya Pradesh is fully united. There is no groupism as is being
reported in the media," he said.
