Advani briefs President, PM on attack on temple

New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee were on September 24 night briefed by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on the terrorist attack on Swaminarayan temple complex in Gandhinagar.

Advani told reporters that he had informed both the President and the Prime Minister about the situation there.

Vajpayee, who is currently in Maldives on a four-day visit, is returning to New Delhi on September 25.

Vajpayee has cut short his visit to Maldives and will return home on September 24 evening a few hours ahead of schedule in view of the terrorist attack on Swaminarayan temple in Gandhinagar.

Vajpayee was to return in the late hours of September 25, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office, Vijay Goel said.
