Mumbai: Maharashtra government on September 24 sounded a red alert across the state
in the wake of terrorist attack on Swaminarayan temple at Gandhinagar in neighbouring
Gujarat, Minister of State for Home Kripashankar Singh said.
"We have sounded a red alert all over the state after terrorists stormed the
Swaminarain temple," Singh said.
Strict vigil will be maintained at all places of worship and key installations in
the state, he said.
Meanwhile, sources at the state police headquarters said that, "Orders have been
issued to all commissioners and district heads of the police to take precautionary
measures to maintain communal harmony."
Security has been stepped up at all the major establishments in the metropolis, city
police sources added.
