Washington: US President George W Bush condemns an attack in which militants fired
on devotees at Swaminarayan temple in Gandhinagar, killing at least 30 people, the
White House said on September 24.
"The President condemns all terrorist attacks. This was a particularly deadly
attack, and the President condemns it," Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters.
Britain also condemned the terrorist attack on the Swaminarayan temple in
Gandhinagar and said religion can never be an excuse or justification for violence.
"I am horrified by this attack on innocent civilians. I strongly condemn all acts of
terrorism," British Foreign Minister Jack Straw said in a statement released by the
High Commission.
